Vedernikov Winery is true jewel of Russian winemaking. The winery is famous by growing Russian indigenous own-rooted grape seedlings and vines and wines creation from grapes harvested. It is located in the Rostov region, on the right bank of the Don River in the South of Russia.
The history of viticulture in modern Rostov region originates from the ancient Greeks, who chose the Don land to create and sell wine more than two thousand years ago. Khutor Vedernikov, founded in the XVII century, was already famous for its excellent grape harvests and wines. In 1756, an article by the Imperial Academy of Sciences “Vedernikov” provides an example of successful viticulture.
Thanks to winemakers diligence Vedenikov winery managed to pass through difficult trials at the end XX century and revive the best historical traditions of Don Valley wine industry. The high quality of Vedernikov wines conquers hearts of experts and connoisseurs on different continents, far beyond Russia. Wines regularly win high awards at prestigious International wine competitions: IWSC, IWC, Mundus Vini and Decanter.
