The project began in 2001 when brothers Lodovico and Piero Antinori, together with their nephew Niccolo’ Marzichi Lenzi (Chief Executive of the company and son of their sister Ilaria), and share-holder Umberto Mannoni, decided to bring it to life and write the story of Tenuta di Biserno and Tenuta Campo di Sasso.
Tenuta di Biserno is located in the commune of Bibbona in the Alta Maremma. The exceptional terroir, the unique Bolgheri Conglomerate soil, the natural conditions, the wind exposure, and the microclimate combine to allow vines of exceptional quality to grow, which in turn give us wines which are unique, authentic and distincitive. The Tenuta di Biserno estate extends to over 40 hectares and is situated at 90 metres above sea level. The vineyards are cultivated mainly with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot that results in the two distinct production styles of Biserno and Il Pino di Biserno. Tenuta Campo di Sasso extends to over 56 hectares which are perfect for the cultivation of Syrah and Vermentino, as well as the main Bordeaux varieties. The wines which we produce are Insoglio del Cinghiale and Occhione.
