Castel Mimi is a family-owned winery with a secular history, founded in 1893 in Bulboaca village, being the first chateau of Moldova. Today, the winery also has one of the largest fleets of barrels in Moldova: over 1000 barrels, used in the wine maturation process. The vineyards spread on 200 hectares near the Nistru River, nearby Speia village, in the Central winemaking region. The winery specializes in high-quality dry wines, produced from international and indigenous grape varieties. The winery produces about half a million bottles of wine per year, which are exported to 25 countries around the world. The top 5 biggest markets are Romania, China, Poland, Japan, and Sweden. Did you know that Castel Mimi is nicknamed the Little Versailles of Moldova, besides being included in the Top 15 most beautiful chateaux of the winemaking world. Additionally, for one day, on the 1st of June 2023, Castel Mimi became the center of Europe, as the European Political Community Summit was held here, thus becoming the first winery in the world to host 47 world leaders and heads of state at once.
