Bregovita Hrvatska is an association of winemakers from the wine region of Croatian Uplands, which is divided into five winegrowing subregions: Moslavina, Prigorje – Bilogora, Zagorje – Međimurje, Plešivica and Pokuplje.Croatian Uplands is characterized by a wide variety of soil and grape varieties. The vineyards are smaller areas, planted on the southern slopes of the hills and are often located next to family farms that deal with tourism. Climatic and pedological conditions favour the production of fresh, elegant wines with a rich fruity and floral aroma, as well as sparkling wines of top quality.
The most famous autochthonous wines of Croatian Uplands are Pušipel, Škrlet and Kraljevna.
The region of Croatian Uplands is suitable for the production of sparkling wines and is home to the finest and most special sparkling wines.
